AWAS shareholders commit $529m
Investors have committed $529m to AWAS to support aircraft acquisitions at the Dublin-based lessor.
Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB) will inject $266m while private equity group Terra Firma will invest $246m. The investments will leave Terra Firma, which first invested in AWAS in 2006, holding 60 per cent of AWAS and CPPIB 25 per cent. AWAS says it will receive a further $200m to finance “value-enhancing opportunities”. The lessor has 110 aircraft on order with Airbus and Boeing.
