Aeroflot may place Lebedev shares on the market
Russian flagship Aeroflot said yesterday (April 8) it may float a 25.8 per cent stake currently owned by tycoon Alexander Lebedev on the stock-market in a bid to boost its free float.
Floating Lebedev's stake could be a way for the company to boost its free-float because the government, keen to preserve control over strategic assets, is unlikely to float any of its shares. The carrier, which is half-owned by the Russian government, said it was considering a number of options for the stake, which Lebedev agreed to sell back to the airline at a discounted price of $400m in January.
