Air India targets sale-and-leaseback for 787s

Troubled Air India has reviewed its operations and the progress of its turn-around project and financial restructuring plan.

The airline’s board has decided to lease out excess capacity of two 747-400s and 777-200LR aircraft after 787 induction. The board has furthermore approved the issue of an RFP for 787 aircraft under a sale and leaseback deal, pending final clearance from the Government.
