Airberlin posts 2010 operating loss
Airberlin has blamed winter weather, volcanic disruption and ATC strikes for a smaller-than-expected increase in 2010 revenue.
These ‘one-off’ events saw costs rise from €2.77bn to €3.16bn, and transformed the airline’s positive operating result in 2009 to a loss of roughly €9m in 2010. Airberlin will publish more detailed financial results in March 24.
