Aircastle secures $780m financing for new aircraft

The aircraft leasing company Aircastle, has secured $530m in debt financing from the European Export Credit Agencies (ECAs) and $250m from Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC).

Debt financing from the ECAs will support the acquisition of seven new A330s; two new A330-200Fs scheduled for delivery to an affiliate of HNA, the parent company of Hainan Airlines; and five new A330-200 passenger aircraft, which are scheduled for delivery to South African Airways (SAA) during 2011. SMBC will provide financing for three of the five A330s for SAA; Aircastle said it is currently in discussions with banks concerning financing for the other SAA and the HNA aircraft.
