Airservices Australia is to invest A$200m into aviation infrastructure, systems and equipment across many of Australia’s major and regional airports over the coming year.
The investment will finance new surface movement radars in Brisbane and Perth; construction of new air traffic control towers at Melbourne, Adelaide, Rockhampton and Broome; and refurbishment and reopening of Karratha’s air traffic control tower and the employment of an extra 100 air traffic controllers and over 70 aviation fire fighters.
