B/E Aerospace scores strong results for 4Q 2011

B/E Aerospace has posted a jump in net earnings of nearly 84 per cent, to $57m, in 4Q 2011. Adjusted net earnings rose by a little over 42 per cent to $61m.

Revenues increased slightly over 20 per cent to $655m; full-year revenues were $2.5bn (+26 per cent on 2010). Operating earnings were $109m (+33 per cent) while operating margin was nearly 17 per cent (+160 basis points). Record orders for 2011, amounting to $2.9bn worth of business, included an $800m contract with Boeing for 737 lavatories. Total backlog stands at $7.9bn (+35 per cent). Amin Khoury, chairman and CEO, B/E Aerospace, said growth was driven by commercial and business jet segments, “which more than offset the margin drag from the consumables management segment acquisitions which we have now begun to integrate”.
