Environment Agency awards contract for EU ETS system

Solutions provider CDC Climat and SFW, an IT systems and services company, have been awarded a contract by the Environment Agency (EA) to deliver a unified system for monitoring, permitting, reporting and benchmarking across all European Union greenhouse gas Emissions Trading Scheme (EU ETS) sectors, including aviation. This system, based on a common set of requirements agreed by a number of EU member states, is the first application of its kind. The EA will use the system for managing its aviation requirements. The application is an electronic workflow and messaging system that will allow the EA and relevant operators to manage their carbon emissions.
