Eurocontrol’s emissions tool given approval
The European Commission has approved a tool that enables small aircraft operators to measure their emissions with greater ease. It will be used by operators flying a limited number of flights and responsible for a limited amount of emissions. Developed by Eurocontrol, the European organisation for the safety of air navigation, the tool is designed to reduce administrative red tape surrounding the European Union Emissions Trading Scheme (EU ETS), and can also be used by larger operators as a means to estimate fuel consumption.
